Have you ever imagined a person who did not interact with the others ? , It is impossible for anyone to not interact with the others . Likewise the state , can not imagine suppose a country does not interact with other countries , or are experiencing an embargo , then it occurs in trouble here and there. Due to those countries that coexist with them to form a global system [ 1 ] . So in essence the relationship between one country to another is a necessity , if narrowly drawn definition , then therein lies the essence of International Relations .
As a phenomenon , International Relations deeply felt and so far-reaching impact of its existence , it is necessary to study it more deeply , then so be it a discipline . International Relations itself has a very diverse definitions , but it can be deduced it is divided into two definitions , he narrowly specialized study of political relations between countries , whereas in the general sense it includes not only political elements , but also includes elements of the economic , social , culture , defense and so on .Nowadays International Relations is a discipline or branch of science that is growing. If we say is growing , then this indicates that there is something in the process . This process also means developing , and at the same time show that has not reached its final form . So it is necessary to develop it in a container that is autonomous , independent and allow intersection and facilitating collaboration in the social sciences dirijensi global paradigm [ 2 ] .
International Relations is a phenomenon that has occurred since the interaction between the state , but he only realized before World War I (1914-1918) [ 3 ] and continued to grow until World War II and the cold war , at that time the only International relations scholars focused on the relationship between the state - as an actor in preventing war , and then evolved into a broader , such as inter- state diplomacy , economic cooperation and other global issues . In its contemporary developments , now International Relations phenomenon is not only related to inter-state relations in various fields , but also the relationship other institutions - in this case those involved in international relations called actors , such as the UN , the EU , MNC ( Multi National Corporation ) , IGOs ( Inter Government Organizations ) , INGO ( Inter Non-Government Organizations , even each individual had been involved in an International Relations , like to keep track of a global event or events that occur in other countries in the news , buying products offered in the market world . now , the decisions taken by each individual scale to scale the country , directly or indirectly , have an impact on our world today . then actors consisting of the state to the individual , have an impact and a unique and important contribution , though small , to another individual , other countries and other actors in the world of international Relations . [4] For example , for example when you buy a product that is marketed internationally , you have participated in the activities of free trade , export - import affecting other countries and various examples other .
In its development as a discipline , it has a limit of uncertainty [ 5 ] , which is referred to it is a multidisciplinary science , covers and other related disciplines , such as political science , economics and other laws . For example in relation to politics , he discusses such activities diplomacy , war , bilateral and multilateral relations and various examples related to other disciplines . Study it has become a strategic necessity various lines , he specifically studied or a sub - discipline of other disciplines , such as international law , international politics , and international business management and others.
There are important issues in the study of International Relations that can not be abandoned , it became a major component in it , because he was the underlying international relations , it is power ( strength ) and interest ( goals ) . The facer traditional study of international relations makes power as a goal each actor ( state ) . Power is a combination of persuasive influence to move others through the promises and benefits administration , as well as coercive threats or deprivation of rights , in this case more inclined to military forces , so that the expertise of international diplomacy and bargaining position ( bargaining ) is an indication of the power of a party . Today in international relations , there is " the changing nature of power " [ 6 ] , a natural shift in the power spectrum that were previously dominated by military forces (military power ) turned and extends toward the other ( non - military power ) , such as mastery of technology , culture , education , economic strength , and so on . For example, mastery of technology , economic viability and the high level of Japanese public education , has given a clear picture of the non - military power that they have.
Then for each academics , individuals will always participate in international relations and those who wish to make the world a better , direct study of international relations as a major - major study or sub-discipline of a branch of science , or indirectly - to follow its development , is a must. Therefore we need a center for the study of international relations in order to meet the strategic complexity of the global world .
